HIGH/LOW COLOR RANGE TUTORIAL

Within the Filters Affect section of the WaveFilter Image interface,  users can select the area or areas to be affected by the filters from the dropdown. By selecting High/Low Color Range as the area to be affected, you can isolate your selection to a specified color range within the frame

To select the High/Low Color Range, right mouse click the High Color (lighter color) in the area you want to select, then right click again on the Low Color (darker color) in the area you want to select. You can then widen or narrow the color range with additional click selections.

The middle status bar, below the Matte Filters section, will inform you whether the pixel the selection crosshair is passing over would widen or narrow the color range. Or, specify the exact RGB values of the color range by selecting the color swatches to the right of High and Low.

You can also isolate and remove additional unwanted portions by making the High/Low Color Range selections within multiple passes. The first pass would remove the majority of the range, while additional passes (up to four), would be used to select a narrower range, and so on.
